The Valley… He’s There Too!

The Valley… He’s There Too!

Psalm 23 Psalm 23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 23:2 He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.

Psalm 23:3 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For the sake of His name.

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

There is always a valley between two mountains. Before each mountain top experience comes a walk down below. Some can live on the mountain top with the Lord for extended periods of time but some cannot for some reason or another.

We reach the mountain top, live there a while but then comes a wind of defeat or a wind of discouragement and the wind blows us right down to the bottom of the mountain again.

Some valleys are wide, some are narrow. Some are on rough ground and some on smooth ground. Most suicides occur there and most marriages break up while one or both mates are there.

I know I am talking to several today who are there and some people live there most of the time. It may be because of physical reasons, emotional reasons, or spiritual reasons. Whatever the reason, too many of us have an address in the valley.

If you are going to be successful in climbing the mountain, then you must recognize what’s in the valley.

I. God is There.

(v.4) “…for thou art with me.”

  • The only way God can speak to some of us is in the valley. Some Christians get high up the mountain and their ears get stopped up and they can’t hear God speak. Some get so high in the mountains that they get in the fog and can’t see spiritually.
  • There is a different living standard there. The same vegetation doesn’t grow there as it does on the mountain top. Sometimes the only way to get the right spiritual diet is to go to the valley. God may have to take us down there in order to take us up to the mountain top.

II. Ground Zero is There. (v.4) “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…”

In the early days of the automobile, the driver had to get a long run at the next hill in order to get up and over the mountain top. I had a Volkswagen that was like that. We’ve had a church bus or two that was like that, haven’t we?

  • The valley is the ground floor for success.
  • It is the only access to the mountain.
  • It is where the elevator is. If you enter the elevator at the top, the only direction is down. Maybe you know a high school student, a college student, a mom, a dad, a teacher, a married couple, or someone else who is in the valley and can’t seem to get out. Maybe you know someone who is considering throwing in the towel. Maybe you know someone who can’t seem to get a handle on their relationships. If it is you, get on the elevator. If it is someone you know, help them get on the elevator because it is about ready to leave the launching pad and the mountain top is the first stop.

III. Grappling is There. (v.4) “thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Jeremiah 2:23 “How can you say, ‘I am not defiled,
I have not gone after the Baals’?
Look at your way in the valley!
Know what you have done!
You are a swift young camel running about senselessly on her ways;

Jeremiah 49:4 How you boast about the valleys!
Your valley is flowing away,
You backsliding daughter
Who trusts in her treasures, saying,
‘Who can come against me?’

Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

This place is always a place of decision. Am I going to stay here or am I going to climb the mountain? We must grapple with our decisions and trust the Lord so we can make the right choice. There is a battle between the flesh and the spirit. Will I make the decision to stay in the world or climb the mountain to spiritual attainment? Will I trust myself or the Lord? Will I depend on my strength or the rod and staff of the Lord?

  • The only reason for staying in the valley is that you don’t make a decision to get out.
  • Most successful people made life-changing decisions while in the valley. Sam Jones was a drunkard in the pits of the saloon and accepted Christ and made the decision to climb the mountain and he became a great preacher. The prodigal son said, “I will arise and climb the mountain back home!” One preacher was offered a lot of money if he would get rid of his bus ministry and the snotty-nosed kids and the preacher chose the kids over the millionaire.

IV. Grace is There. (v.5-6) Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

  • Luke 3:5, “Every valley shall be filled, every mountain and hill shall be brought low.” That means that the mountain is accessible to all who trust the Lord and start climbing.
  • Romans 8:28, “All things work together for good to them who love God.”

What about it? Are you going to stay in the valley for the rest of your life? You don’t need to. Why don’t you get out today? Why don’t you decide to start climbing the mountain today?

A big part of our ministry is music, so I thought I give you the lyrics to a song to help lift your spirits.

Song: “I Heard Footsteps”

Talkin’ bout the mountains;
I’ve climbed them,
Felt the sunshine on my shoulders.
Felt the warm winds blow.

Talkin’ bout the valleys,
I’ve been there.
Had my world to crumble down.
Felt the teardrops flow.

And I heard footsteps,
Walkin’ in the shadows.
And a hand reaching out
To tell me He was there.

Until next we meet again I’ll leave you with this Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank you for always being there and taking care of us, who love you so much. We ask for forgiveness and mercy in our daily walk with you and we realize without you we are lost and will surely remain in the valley.

Father, we need your help, our country needs your help. Some of us feel forgotten and alone without any help to fight back against what our country is doing, we fear for our freedom and way of life. We pray for Godly intervention. Lord, you can bring to justice all involved in the attempt to destroy our democracy and bring us back to a Godly nation.

Lord Jesus, I pray you will show yourself and satan will flee and all your enemies will be revealed and justice will be administered.

I pray healing and love come over our land, as well as a worldwide awakening recognizing you as the Lord and Saviour of the universe. You are the answer … the only answer.

In Jesus name, we pray,

AMEN

Here It Is… The Truth!

I love all of you in Christ Jesus. I pray that all of God’s children would read this and find solace in what I’ve been trying to pass to them what the Lord has been telling me all along. (Read the message before this one.) Of course, there will still be naysayers but remember what I’ve been teaching … Fear is the opposite of faith. Do you trust God or not? That has a yes or no answer, no middle of the road, Revelation 3:16. Carefully read what was released today from the same people who lied to you in the first place;

The number of reported COVID-19 infections has plummeted 40{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} in the United States in just one week and 30{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} worldwide in the past three weeks.

And the primary reason is not the distribution of vaccines, contend, experts, who point out that only 8{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} of Americans and 13{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} of people worldwide have received their first dose, DailyMail.com reported.

A New York Times COVID-19 case tracker indicated cases in the U.S. were down 30{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} from just last week, according to Marketwatch. Statistics from Johns Hopkins show the nation’s seven-day rolling average is down 40{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24}.

Daily cases have dropped 45{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} since the latest peak on Jan. 11, according to data from the COVID-19 Tracking Project.

The World Health Organization said Monday its World in Data graphs show the daily infection rate has fallen by 30{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} over the past three weeks.

Some public health experts told DailyMail.com it’s possible that more people contracted the virus than previously thought, and some regions could be experiencing herd immunity.

Many epidemiologists have noted the coronavirus, in a second wave, is following the bell-shaped pattern of epidemics predicted by Farr’s Law in 1840, regardless of mitigation efforts.

Further, in January, the World Health Organization officially acknowledged that the “gold standard” test used to diagnose COVID-19 has a high rate of false-positives that make it unreliable.

Bottom of Form

In a July podcast that resurfaced in December, Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted the widely used PCR tests pick up harmless fragments of the coronavirus, resulting in many false-positive cases that result in overstating the threat. In August, the New York Times examined PCR testing data in three states and found “up to 90 percent of people testing positive carried barely any virus.”

In an advisory to lab workers issued Jan. 13, the WHO recommended a second test to confirm any diagnosis for people who aren’t showing any symptoms of the disease.

“Where test results do not correspond with the clinical presentation, a new specimen should be taken,” the guidance says.

The WHO warns that most PCR tests “are indicated as an aid for diagnosis,” meaning health care providers should consider at least seven other factors to confirm any test.

WND reported in December an external peer review concluded a major paper supporting the PCR test for COVID-19 has 10 “serious flaws,” resulting in many false-positive cases.

A briefing published by four British scientists concluded PCR testing is “distorting policy and creating the illusion that we are in a serious pandemic when in fact we are not.”

“A false positive pseudo-epidemic is a well-described phenomenon in the medical literature which results in an exponential rise in diagnosed cases and deaths but no excess deaths,” the British researchers write.

Until the next time we get together … KEEP LOOKING UP!

My prayer for you; Praying Hands

Father, what a rollercoaster ride we’ve been on, if it wasn’t for You we’d be surely lost. In this time of scare tactics, the evil one is using we thank you for the TRUTH and give you all the praise and glory.

We thank you for holding us in the palm of your hand and loving us so much. I pray you continue to bring the truth to light and the evil ones would get the punishment they deserve.

I also pray for you to heal our land and open the eyes of non-believers and bring our country back in line with your word, protect the unborn, heal the sick, and use in a mighty way to help build your kingdom…

In Jesus name, we pray,

Amen

FEAR… Get Over It!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9.

Forty years of wanderings in the wilderness are finally over! But, Moses the man who brought the children of Israel out of Egypt is dead. Now, it is time for Joshua to take the staff. He is named as Moses’ successor, and the time has come for Israel to cross the Jordan River and take possession of their Promised Land. If they could get over this one last obstacle, they would finally be home. On the other side of Jordan is a land flowing with milk and honey, the fulfillment of all dreams. But standing at the edge of the River and not knowing what lurks ahead, Joshua became fearful. And he had every reason to be afraid! Canaan was occupied by giants! The cities to be captured were fortified. And yet the Lord tells Joshua, in Chapter 1, Verse 6, “Be strong and of good courage.” Meaning, to succeed in his new assignment, Joshua needs to overcome fear. God tells him this again and again. Indeed, He wasn’t “asking,” “requesting” or “suggesting” to Joshua not to fear. God was issuing a command!

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” Isaiah 43:2.

As we stand at the start of the year 2021, God’s telling us not to fear. As we are embarking upon a new path that we’ve never been to, there is a danger that we too can become anxious and fearful. But God has given us a sound mind! We are exhorted to be strong and courageous! God’s given us power so we can overcome every obstacle, and He’s given us love. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7. So there is no reason for a child of God to be gripped, controlled, paralyzed, and destroyed by fear. The Almighty tells us not to fear because He is in control of every situation. He is our refuge and strength! God is our help in times of trouble. So we don’t have anything to fear! God will be with us. He knows our name and knows what we are going through, so we don’t have to be fearful of the unknown. We can face the future fearless.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10.

Have you ever been afraid? What do you fear? What is weighing heavy on your heart? Like Joshua, we all face fear! Is it of height, of failing, or of how things will turn out? Do you fear criticism? Some fear poverty, old-age, or the prospect of separation or divorce. We worry about the future, about politics, and our health. Fear is a human emotion. It can make a grown man squeal like a child. Fear often results in depression. It stops your spiritual life. Fear paralyzes. It freezes. Sometimes it can rob us of quality of life, or lead us to make bad decisions. Fear will cripple even the strongest. It can prevent us from moving forward to receive all that God has for us. Fear is a torment! Fear brings turmoil in our hearts and minds. When we are filled with so much fear, we can’t think straight. The only time fear is mentioned in a positive light in the Bible is when it refers to reverence for God. Fear is everywhere! Everywhere we turn we hear the voice of fear. The media industry fills our ears with the noise of unemployment, murders, and a failing economy. The doctor’s report flood our ears with cancer, HIV/AIDS, heart attacks, tumors, COVID-19, etc. Friends and family speak their fears into our lives and it weakens our faith. “Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.” Isaiah 24:17. Still, we don’t have to listen to those noises. We don’t have to agree with them. And we don’t have to line up ourselves with them. “For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.” I John 5:4. Therefore, we can overcome these noises of fear by our faith. Even though we hear these noises every day doesn’t mean we have to be afraid. Faith will silence these noises as soon as we activate our faith.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” Ephesians 6:10.

According to Strong’s Bible Concordance, the Hebrew word for courage means: “to be strong, alert, courageous, brave, bold, solid, hard; to be determined, to make oneself alert, strengthen oneself, confirm oneself, persist in, or prove superior to” Courage is not the absence of fear, it’s acting in faith in the midst of fear! Meaning courage is having the strength to do something despite being fearful. Hence, to be courageous means having the confidence to do what God wants them to do. Three times, the Lord told Joshua to be strong and of good courage. He also gives us the same promises He gave to Joshua today. “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5. Whatever challenge we face in this life, God is with us! We can be assured that He won’t let us down. There may be an obstacle in front of us today, but God will part it. There may be opposition in the year ahead, but God will give us victory over it. Our role is to trust Him completely and genuinely. God will never leave us.

ABIDE IN HIS PRESENCE:

“And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14.

The secret of Joshua’s strength, courage, and fearlessness is the presence of God. And the assurance of this divine presence also applies to all who are in Christ today. The night before His death, Jesus told His disciples in John 14:16: “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.” Even in His last words on earth, He promises to be with us. “18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen..” Matthew 28:18-20. No matter what is going on in your life, Jesus is there with you. By abiding in His presence, we will be given the strength to overcome.

Here are some directions to follow and important things to always remember;

  1. Know who you are. When you put your faith in Jesus and became His follower, you are adopted into God’s family and became one of His children. You’re now a child of God! The Holy Spirit is in you. The same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is in you. Nothing will come your way in the next few days, weeks, months, or years, that should trouble you. You’re precious in God’s eyes! He’ll give you the power you need to be victorious.
  2. Let go of the past. “Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:13-14.
  3. Refuse to focus on your fear. Guard your eyes and ears. Don’t let your fear continuously rob you of joy.
  4. Don’t let it paralyze you.
  5. Realize that God is with you. We must not fear because God is with us. “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Psalms 118:6. If God protects you from all forms of danger, why should you fear?
  6. Pray always. “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalms 34:4. When we seek God with all our hearts, He will hear us and deliver us from all our fears.
  7. Confront your fear. You will never win until you rise and confront the thing that is causing you to fear.
  8. Trust in God. Every time we are afraid, we must see it as an opportunity to surrender everything in God’s hands. Trust that He will provide all that you need. God is still good. He is still faithful. He will never leave you.
  9. Remember what God has done in the past.
  10. Meditate upon the Word of God daily. The Hebrew word for meditate means: “utter, muse, mutter, meditate, speak.” It comes from a root word that means whisper. We should not only ponder and think about the Word of God but speak it out even in a whisper. The Word of God is powerful.
  11. Be filled with love. “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” I John 4:18. When love prevails, fear stops from existing.
  12. Fear God. Every Christian should have this fear.

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” John 15:4.

God is longing to pour out His favor and blessing upon us in the coming year. He has an amazing plan for us. Plans that are so extraordinary that you can’t even begin to dream about. The wilderness is not where He wants His children to be. The place of fear is not where He wants us to reside. God doesn’t want us to be held back by fear. So move into your place of abundance. You’re not alone! God’s with you. He will not leave your side. God cares for you; He will never forget you. He watches over the sparrows and He watches over you. Troubles will come, but God never stops loving you. If He remembers each sparrow, you can be sure He remembers you too.

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? ” Matthew 6:25-27.

Today, you can overcome the spirit of fear and express your faith in Christ Jesus by saying this prayer:

O LORD, I come to You now. I know I am a sinner, forgive me. Lord Jesus, from today, I accept You as the LORD of my life. Change my heart from a disobedient heart to a heart that will obey You. With my new heart, I believe that it is because of me that You came into this world; You died for my sins, take away my problems, fill me with Your Holy Spirit, write my name in the Book of Life, and make me brand new in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, I thank You that You’re always with me.
  2. O Lord, help me to remember Your promises and to trust in You whenever I’m afraid, in Jesus’ name.
  3. Lead me, Lord, through the unknown in my life. Make Your path  clear to me, in Jesus’ name.
  4. Father, I lift my fears, worries, and concerns to You today. Help me to keep moving forward, in Jesus’ name.
  5. Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to be with me wherever I go.

God is your Father and loves beyond your wildest imagination …

Talk to Him … He’s listening!

I pray you receive this message and you focus your life on the one, true living God, Jesus Christ.

Until next time … Many Blessings and  “Keep Looking Up!”

Dusty

The Reason For The Season…

Well, all the presents have been unwrapped, and we’ve picked the mess up. Now it’s onward to the new year, but can I ask you something? … Did you take time to wish Jesus a Happy Birthday, even though it may not be His true chronological birthday, it’s still the one celebrated. He is the reason for the season, even if the non-believers try to erase His name from the minds of our children not allowing prayer in schools, and going against God’s holy word in the name of political correctness, It’s still our responsibility to tell them about the meaning of Christmas and to tell others of the saving grace of our Lord. I pray the real Christmas story was told at your house this Christmas.    Bible  Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 2:1-20. Don’t let the political left raise your children and the news media guide your life with their fake news fear tactics.

Jesus is our saving grace, and it’s time ALL believers if they truly have Christ in their heart and are sold out Christians to start acting like it. (Romans 8:31) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? Keep in mind fear is the opposite of faith.

Where’s your heart today? Are you hiding in fear or are living like Jesus is Lord of your life?

Now is the time to start a new year and truly stand for what you believe … Praise the Lord Jesus and pray for our country.   Have a blessed new year and know that On The Road For Christ Ministries are praying for you …

My prayer for You:

Praise you Lord and thank you for coming to save sinners like me. I pray that this new year is a year of great revival not only in our country, which desperately needs it, but the entire world would come to the saving grace of you, Lord Jesus.

Lord, thank you for your love and mercy and I pray you will heal our land, our sick, and bring our people back to you. I pray you will reveal the evil ones trying to destroy our country and bring them to justice.

We give you all the praise and glory and pray in your precious name,

Amen!

A Memorial… Remembering Pastor Bruce

Even though Pastor Bruce left us way too soon, his love and inspiration remain for all he touched when in those quiet times you would reflect and remember him.

I thought for those of you who wanted to come to Bruce’s Celebration of Life on December 5th, 2020, but because of extenuating circumstances you couldn’t make it, I thought you might like to hear some of what was said. The following is an excerpt from his celebration:

On this day in December, we gather together as friends and family to Celebrate The Life of Bruce Swart, a pastor too many and a friend to all. On behalf of his brother, Dean Swart, and his sister-in-law Linda as well as all his extended family; we want to welcome you and thank you for coming. We are here to remember a life dedicated to serving the Lord and helping others. Bruce was consumed with his desire to lead as many people as he could to Jesus; he was really concerned about where people would spend eternity. He didn’t just talk the talk; he walked the walk. So let me paraphrase how Bruce would do a memorial service, and I know without a doubt he would expect me to do similarly.

We are here to hear what God would say to us through His Word about the realities of life, death, and eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ.

The sudden passing of Pastor Bruce has again confirmed the uncertainty of life.

James, the Apostle, issued this warning: James 4:13-14 (NAS)

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such-and-such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.”  Yet you do not know ]what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.”

We don’t think as much about it when a person passes away from a prolonged illness, but it gets our attention when life unexpectedly comes to an end for someone in good health.

So many people try to avoid thinking about death.

It is almost like they can think they can deny its existence if they don’t talk about it.

But unless the Lord returns first, all of us will pass the way of the grave.

“But the Bible tells us that in Hebrews 9:27  “And just as it is destined for people to die once, and after this comes judgment,…”

It is in moments like this that all of us are reminded that we still have time to examine the direction of our lives, and we can still make preparation for that day when we will stand before a holy God.

John 14:1-6 Jesus said; “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him in John 14:6; “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Do you want to make sure your life is going in the right direction?

Do want to make sure that at the end of your life it has been a life with meaning and purpose?

Then Jesus is the Way! He is not just a Way; He is the Way!

He’s The Way To Peace, He’s The Way To Joy, He’s The Way To Contentment, He’s The Way To Eternal Life!

There are people who have an addiction and they are looking for a way out of that lifestyle…Jesus Is The Way!

There are going to be some difficult days in your life (Like Today) and if you want help thru them… again, Jesus Is The Way!

THE TRUTH- have you ever believed someone and found out later they lied to you? Have you ever believed in something and you found out later it was a lie?

Well, when you put your trust in Jesus and place your life in His hands, you’ll find out…

That He Is The Truth Yesterday, He Is The Truth Today, And He Is The Truth For Tomorrow!!!

THE LIFE-Have you ever heard someone say, “Get A Life!”

If you want a life that matters, a life that means something, a life that can change the world around you, a life that will impact other people’s life… Jesus Is The Life!

It also means that God is concerned about every aspect of your life.

It means that you don’t have to go through this or any trial alone. He wants you to find comfort in His word, to find comfort in the people He has placed around you.

How do you get all this… Let me show you, we’ll do it Bruce’s way. He always liked to tell people there’s no such thing as a sinner’s prayer for salvation in the bible, however, there is direction. Let’s back this up with scripture, let’s look at Romans 10: 9-10;  that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes,  resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses,  resulting in salvation.

John 10:9-10;  I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.  10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life and have it abundantly.

Now to put this in a nutshell you must confess in prayer; Jesus is Lord, and you believe He died on the cross for your sins and on the third day rose from the dead and then ask Him to come into your heart… That’s it! It’s that simple. This is also a good time to ask forgiveness for your sins and to start your ongoing prayer life. Then you should find a good bible teaching, bible-believing church, and start the adventure of your life. Philippians 4:13; I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. So get started, this could be the day!

Take this message home in your heart from Pastor Bruce and remember this poem in his honor…

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now, I’m free

I’m following the path God has laid; you see

I took His hand when I heard him call;

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play.

Task left undone must stay that way;

I found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a moment of bliss,

oh yes, and these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full; I savored much,

good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;

don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.

God wanted me now; He set me free.

President Who???

A lot of us are still wondering who will be President? Have you dug deeper than the fake news? There sure Biden will be president, but what about the 100,000 votes found in Virginia, All for President Trump? This is just the tip of the iceberg. Not a word has been said in the media about those. If the election was on the up and up, why weren’t republican observers allowed to watch in many of the counting places?

God is IN CONTROL, and it’s not over … KEEP PRAYING!!

Let’s go to the word and see what it says about honesty, integrity, and following God’s laws.

” When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”- Proverbs 29:2

“The Church must take right ground in regards to politics . . . God will bless or curse the nation according to the [political] course Christians take.” -Charles Finney

From the moment the first settlers came to America and dedicated the land to “the glory of God, and the Propagation of the Christian Faith,” the Christian church has played a central role in shaping the governmental structure of our nation. In this election year, we felt it would be timely to look at what God’s Word says about civil government, and how Christians are to relate to secular authority. The Bible says more about this issue than you may realize.

Sadly, Christians who are involved in the political process are often derided as being a fringe group, the “radical Christian right.” However, our critics often overlook the fact that Christians have been on the cutting edge of some of the greatest reforms in history, including the development of many hospitals, charities, and the founding of some of our greatest colleges and universities. From the abolition of slavery to the civil rights reforms of the 1960s, Christians have been on the front lines of making the world a better place for all. Much is said about the “separation of Church and State.” While an in-depth discussion of this topic is beyond the scope of this study, there are a number of Scriptural principles that should be examined. While it is true that the Bible teaches that spiritual government (Church) and political government (State) are two separate institutions, they are to function in ways that are complementary to each other. For example: In ancient Israel, Moses was the political leader (Exodus 18:15-16), while his brother Aaron served in the Priesthood as the spiritual leader (Exodus 28-29) A similar relationship is seen between King Josiah and Hilkiah the Priest (2 Kings 22.) Another example would be Nehemiah the Governor (Nehemiah 7:1-7,) and Ezra the Scribe (Nehemiah 8:1-8.) Above all, the highest law is God’s Law, and He expects all human governments to be subject to it (Psalm 2:10-12Isaiah 8:20.

Please understand, we are not “preaching politics.” Ultimately, genuine change comes through changed hearts, which only occurs as people respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, we do still live in a fallen, sinful world, and as we will see, God has ordained the system of civil government to protect the innocent and to maintain proper order. The Christian life carries a prophetic voice that calls us to shine a light into dark places. Jesus’ call for His people to be salt and light to a dying world covers every aspect of life (Matthew 5:13-14,) including how we vote and relate to our government. Christians are to be peaceful, law-abiding citizens, (Romans 13:1-71 Peter 2:13-15.) We are to pray for and honor our government leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-3,) faithfully pay our taxes (Matthew 22:21), and to work for the highest good of all people (Proverbs 3:27Galatians 6:10.) This includes working to promote Godly principles in politics and government (Proverbs 29:2.)

The above-mentioned Scripture, Romans 13:1-7, is a key text in understanding what the Scriptures say about the relation of civil and spiritual authority. In this passage, we see that civil government is ordained by God to punish evil, and preserve the peace in a society. It even goes as far as to call government servants ministers of God! (Obviously, they don’t always live up to it, but that is God’s ideal nonetheless.) In light of this, the Bible calls us to obey all civil laws, unless these laws are in direct violation of the laws and commandments of God (see Acts 4:19.)

There are several people in the Bible that God specifically called to work for change in the political and governmental arena. This includes men and women such as Joseph (Genesis 41:39-41), Deborah (Judges 5:1-7), Gideon (Judges 6:11-14), Samuel (1 Samuel 3:1-19), David (1 Samuel 16:1-13), Nehemiah (Nehemiah 1:1-11), and Daniel (Daniel 1:4-6; 18-21). In our day and age, there are a number of avenues through which we can work for change in civil authority. One important avenue we should avail ourselves of is Election Day; the God-given privilege of voting is something we should never take for granted. Keep in mind that following Jesus transcends blind loyalty to political parties, and to a degree, there is room among Christians for some honest difference of opinion in regard to politics. Nevertheless, there are some Biblical principles that God requires us all to follow when it comes to the stands we take.

These Biblically mandated issues include:

Speaking out for innocent life (Proverbs 31:8.) This includes unborn children (Psalm 139:13-16Isaiah 44:2, 24; 49:1-5; Jeremiah 1:5)

Confronting sin and moral decay (Proverbs 14:34Isaiah 5:20Jonah 1:2)

Defending the poor and oppressed (Psalm 10:2Isaiah 10:1-2Amos 2:6-7)

Working toward the peace and blessing of Israel (Genesis 12:3; 27:29; Psalm 122:6)

Second, contrary to popular belief, character DOES count when choosing our leaders. Exodus 18:21-22 gives us a good model to follow. These passages show us that civil leaders are to be “…able men who fear God…men of truth, hating covetousness (greed)”. If our country had always followed these common-sense guidelines when casting our votes, we would be a much stronger nation today.

The Bible describes leadership as being a sacred trust, and placing a person in such a position is a very serious thing. For example, in 1 Timothy 5:22, Paul instructs the young Pastor Timothy to “Lay hands suddenly on no man (to ordain him into the ministry,) neither be partaker of other men’s sins” In other words, if we hastily put a person into leadership who is not worthy of it, we risk bearing the guilt of that person’s sin.

What does this have to do with voting? As we mentioned earlier, the Bible also describes government leaders as being ministers of God. In this case, we “ordain” our leaders by our votes, support, and influence. If we support politicians who support ungodly causes or promote immoral behavior, God holds us responsible for that. To bid a person “Godspeed” in their sin is to become a partaker of that same sin (2 John 11.), a very sobering thought.

Finally, we can never fall into the trap of substituting political involvement for the Gospel. We must recognize that politics can never be an instrument of salvation. While we can and should work for positive change, this is, at best, a Band-Aid solution. At their root, a nation’s problems are always spiritual in nature. When it comes to eternal issues, simply “moralizing” our culture is not enough. Winning people to our political causes is not enough. People can embrace all the “Christianized” cultural influences in the world, but without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, they are still be totally lost.

It has to start with each of us as individuals. God gives us the wonderful promise that “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.,” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

We can all start right where we are.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.” (Psalms 33:12)

My prayer:

Precious Heavenly Father here your peoples cries and save our nation in its dark hour of need. Reveal the coruption and lies in our election and bring justice to our land.

Father, I pray for an end to this plague and a healing for the sick. Lord, bring our nation together and begin a revival that will circle the globe and bring it to it’s knees in praise of you. So be it!

In Jesus name, the name above all names I pray,

AMEN

News Headlines: PANDEMIC KILLS 94 MILLION IN U.S. AND COUNTING!

USA Flag heart and Cross

Really? … Why isn’t that in the headlines? You don’t even have to add in the aids pandemic, that’s millions more and counting too.

That’s old news and can’t be used as a political football either. Are 224,000 lives a lot of deaths? Of course it is. Do we have a choice who catches COVID and who doesn’t? Not really. We can however do something about the death toll of unborn babies. Are you politically correct or biblically correct? You can’t be both. Are you willing to pay the price your political beliefs will gain you?

This message was hard to write, but some of it will even be harder to read. It’s biblical and it will test your faith…

PRO-CHOICE IS NO CHOICE (Psalms 139:1-16)

We come together to worship and celebrate… and yet today our hearts should be heavy at the fact:

More babies have been killed since 1973 by abortion than the combined populations of NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, KC, and counting at the rate of 2 million a year! That’s over 94 million and counting.

Our hearts should be heavy today because of the deaths occurring every day still in the name of “scientific research.”

In California recently live babies aborted at 6 months were submerged in jars of liquid oxygen to see if they could breathe thru their skin… they couldn’t.

Human embryos and their organs have been encased in plastic and sold as paperweights and novelty items.

Brain–$90

Baby’s foot–$70

A $600,000 grant from the National Institute of Health was given to researchers that they might slice open an aborted baby without an anesthetic in order to obtain its liver. The researcher in charge said that the baby was “complete, alive, and secreting urine.” He said there was no need for anesthetic stating that “the aborted fetus is just garbage tissue without feeling.”

Our hearts should be heavy today because even aborted babies’ placentas are being sold to drug companies for purposes ranging from stem cell research to additives for expensive shampoos. (You think stem-cell research was defeated? Not hardly… just government funding of it.) In England, the fat from aborted babies has become a valuable additive in luxury soaps.

By the time you go to work tomorrow, 7,000 more innocent people will be submitted to capital punishment, although they will have no trial before they are executed. They have no attorney, and will not be granted the basic rights of even a prisoner of war. Not only will they not be treated humanely, not only will they not be afforded the basic anesthetics used by every veterinarian in the world, but they will die a torturous death, ripped apart by forceps and injected with toxins.

Some women reading this had an abortion prior to being saved. The purpose of this message is anything but to laden them with more guilt. As a matter of fact… they are my strongest supporters. They recognize more than anyone here how needful this message is. Ma’am, you’ve confessed it, forsaken it, and just like my sins, their sins, and your other sins, Jesus’ blood has washed it white as snow.

Perhaps the greatest man in the Old Testament was Moses and in New Testament was Paul…

…what do they have in common? Both committed murder prior to being saved. Thank God today for the powerful blood of Jesus that cleanses us of ALL sin!

This is not at all a comfortable topic to write…or to read. But I write today on behalf of the unborn with hopes of saving lives.

Several years ago, a man walked along a beach at low tide. A great storm had come and had left the beach covered with starfish… out of their element. They were dying. And there were hundreds of thousands of them. The man began picking them up one by one, casting them into the ocean that they might live. Another man came along and asked what he was doing. He said I’m trying to save these starfish. The man laughed, “there are too many of them. You couldn’t possibly make a difference.” He looked at the one in his hand and said, “I can make a difference to this one.”

Who are the contributors to this atrocity?

Supreme court justices that voted in favor of Roe vs. Wade.

Social planners like Planned Parenthood who every day advise and encourage young ladies to seek abortions.

Greedy physicians who put the almighty dollar ahead of their “Hippocratic oath” to preserve life at all costs.

Owners of abortion clinics who are getting rich off of their chambers of death. They live in big fancy houses… but their houses have babies’ bones for bricks and blood for mortar.

Willing fathers and mothers who, sometimes ignorantly, sometimes intentionally, lay conscience aside and approve the procedure.

If these people just mentioned do not confess and repent… I submit to you that Pharaoh in the Old Testament and King Herod in the New Testament will, on judgment day, have to take a back seat to these groups of people just mentioned. Hitler will have to stand in line behind these people before receiving his sentence.

On Jan. 22, 1973, nine men in black robes said there are only 3 requirements in our country in order to have a legal abortion:

The baby must still be inside the mother.

The mother must submit to the procedure.

A licensed doctor must officiate.

It’s not only legal to kill a baby, it’s easy as a same day, out-patient procedure… what’s wrong with this picture?

Partial-birth abortion has all but done away with that first requirement.

(All but the babies’ head is delivered. And as the nurse holds still the wiggling body of the mostly delivered child, the doctor inserts a pair of surgical scissors into the back of the neck, then opens the scissors to crush the brain and spinal connection.)

5 years ago our Christ-professing, southern Baptist president of the U.S. had a chance to outlaw this procedure and did not. I wouldn’t want to be standing near him at the judgment… and I don’t intend on even being present at the Great White Throne judgment!

Don Fitzsimmons, executive director of the National Council of Abortion Clinics, an organization that owns over 200 abortion mills, testified before Congress that this is a very rare procedure only used when the life of the mother is at stake. A few days later he appeared on Nightline with Ted Koppel and admitted that was a lie, and that his lies were making him physically ill.

It’s legal in the U.S. to have an abortion even in the 9th month of pregnancy, and even if the mother is in labor! All that is necessary is for 1 licensed physician to reason that in his opinion the health of the mother is at stake. (Not life of the mother… health) The court describes what they mean by the “health” of the mother this way: “The medical judgment concerning the mother’s health may be exercised in the light of all factors, physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman’s age.”

This means she can have an abortion if she feels that having a baby could stress her out. Or if childcare would tax her mental health. Whose mental health has not been taxed by childcare? Or, if the stigma of an out-of-wedlock pregnancy would distress her socially.

We all have heard about the girl who some years ago left the prom, gave birth to her baby into a toilet, and then returned to the dance. She was arrested for murder, as she should have been… but wait a minute. Wasn’t she told it was ok? After all, she could have taken care of that an hour earlier at a clinic and it would have been fine!

Or, you probably heard about the father who, when handed his newborn son, threw him against the wall of the delivery room, killing him. He was arrested for murder, as he should have been. But wait… it would’ve been ok just minutes before to let a doctor kill it.

Remember, several years ago a mother drowned all 5 of her children, why did she go to jail? Do you see the double standard?

One of my idols in the ministry is Dr. Adrian Rogers… who had the opportunity to testify before the Senate on this matter. After telling the Senators what the Bible says about abortion, a woman approached him outside the chamber, and she was mad. She was a “deaconess” in a church in D.C. and a lawyer. That’s 2 strikes against her so far! She put her hands on her hips and said, “You don’t understand. You are a man and you cannot possibly understand the distress a woman goes thru during an unwanted pregnancy.”

Dr. Rogers said calmly, “Let me get this straight… you are saying that if someone distresses you, it’s ok to snuff them out? Because lady, you’re distressing me right now.” She began backing up away from him. He said, “If I tried to put my hands round your neck and press with my thumbs, at least you could cry out, at least you could run. Who will cry out for the innocent unborn?!”

We’re talking about babies with souls since the moment of conception… but more than that, babies who have developed physically, with beating hearts, digesting stomachs, open eyes, hearing ears… babies which since the advent of ultrasounds have been seen recoiling in pain, desperately trying to escape their killers! And if the coroner determines a person is completely dead by the absence of brain waves, shouldn’t the presence of brain waves prove life!

Scientists say, “We don’t know that it’s alive, you can’t prove it’s alive”

Let’s err on the side of life.

Can I fire bullets thru a door if I know there’s no one standing behind it? Sure, if it’s my door.

If I’m sure there ARE people behind it… it’s murder.

But what if I’m not sure if there’s someone there or not? its negligent homicide at the very least!

What the Bible says about life in the womb:

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed in the womb, I knew you. And before you were born, I consecrated you; and I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

God knows that baby in the womb and even has a mapped-out plan for its life.

Luke 1:39-44  Greek word brevos, “babe” used here and for babies after they are born as well!

Psalm 139:13-17  unborn babies are the object of God’s love, concern, and attention.

The Bible never makes any distinction between pre-natal and post-natal life.

5 Reasons why Pro-Choice is no choice:

  1. Innocence Factor: Psalm 6:16 says God hates the shedding of innocent blood. An interesting study in the Bible is that of how innocent blood cries out to God.

Abel’s blood cried out to God when Cain killed him.

Revelation says the blood of the Christian martyrs cries out to God, “how long, O Lord, before you return and take vengeance.”

The victim in an abortion ranks as the most innocent victim ever sentenced to death.

Dr. Bernard Natheson is an OB and a GYN. He once taught at Cornell. He was at one time the director of the first and largest abortion clinic in the western hemisphere. This man performed or supervised over 60,000 abortions. Then one day he walked in and resigned, saying,

“I am deeply troubled by my own increasing certainty that I had in fact presided over 60,000 deaths.” Then he started speaks out to stop the shedding of innocent blood.

It’s time to build a conviction about this matter of abortion. Is it the shedding of innocent blood, which God hates, or not? You can’t ride the fence on this one. Do you follow Christ or political correctness?

I get a pain in a place I can’t locate when I hear people say, “I personally am against it, but I guess it’s true, what a woman does with her own body is her business.”

“I personally am against what Hitler did… I think he was wrong… but what he does in his gas chambers is his business!” Same thing…

  1. The Golden Rule Factor—do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Any mothers who wouldn’t mind her body being dismembered?

Any doctors who wouldn’t mind being locked into a chamber filled with corrosive fluid, left to convulse ‘til death?

Any judge or abortion clinic owner who wouldn’t mind being ripped apart with a powerful machine?

If you don’t want it to happen to you, then I suggest you not do it to anyone that is 1/20th your size, who cannot defend themselves.

  1. The Human Instinct Factor—even if you don’t know what the Bible says about abortion, it is contrary to every fiber of how human beings are built.

Romans 1 speaks about the lowest of the low in society… those who have no “natural affection.”

Few instincts are stronger than the mothering instinct… which has brought many women to the place of being willing to die for their baby, rather than put them to death.

  1. The Selfishness Factor—the pro-abortion crowd always argues about cases of rape, incest, and the mother’s life. All 3 of those put together account for only 2{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} of abortions. 98{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} are based on selfishness.

If you’d like to talk about that 2{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} I say fine, I’ll have that conversation with you, but first, let’s deal with the other 98{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24}!

Most of that 2{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} involve cases of the health of the mother. Studies show that in cases of rape and incest, because of the lack of emotional involvement of the woman, conception is extremely rare. Hospitals today say that if you can get to the hospital within 6 hours of such an occurrence, the success rate of conception prevention is 100{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} for all practical purposes. But, what if not, is it still a human being? Does it not deserve to retain its life? What did he or she do wrong?

The circumstances which surround the conception of a child do not determine the value of that child.

Ruth, in the Old Testament, part of the ancestry of Jesus Christ, was descended from Moab, the product of an incestuous relationship. We cannot play God in any circumstances.

70{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} of those who have an abortion are unmarried.

53{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} have no other children.

Most are over 20, white, mid to upper class, and over 1/3rd are going back for repeat abortions.

Most are results of acts of illicit sex, or they are career-minded and don’t want an interruption of their plans.

For this reason, I proclaim before you that if you want to be pro-choice, go ahead, and choose!!! Choose not to hop into bed with him, or choose to adopt it out to loving parents, in any case, choose wisely… choose life!

  1. The Freedom Factor—the pro-abortion crowd yells and screams about freedom of choice. It’s my body… it’s a matter of women’s rights!

Put it down in big letters: WHAT ABOUT THE BABY’S BODY?

IT’S TIME WE STAND UP FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS, UNBORN WOMEN, THAT IS! AND UNBORN MEN!

I imagine an aborted baby in heaven asking God, how could she do that? After all, it’s MY BODY!

It’s your body, so put cocaine into it! If you get caught, you’re going to jail… or wait, if your liberal don’t punish them for breaking the law, send them to rehab… again and again and again… Where does that end?

Your body, yes. In a civilized society, NO.

It’s your body, so sell it out by means of prostitution. If you get caught, you’re going to jail.

Your body, yes. In a civilized society, NO.

Let’s say I pull out a hatchet and here before you begin chopping off my fingers. I hope some of you would stop me.

But it’s my body!

Your body, yes. In a civilized society, NO.

We take people like that and put them in a straitjacket and a rubber room!

No one has total freedom to do with their own body whatever they want.

What not to do: React in violence. It’s never right to do wrong.

What to do:

  1. Be informed. We can’t bury our heads in the sand. Ignorance is bliss, right? Well, ignoring the issue doesn’t make it go away. There’s no better platform from which to proclaim this message than the church, by the way.
  2. Work and pray… for a constitutional amendment to overturn Roe v. Wade.
  3. Teach sexual morality in the home. We need to teach our kids a higher standard than “safe sex”.
  4. We need more compassion for the unwed mother. Yes, we’ll preach against pre-marital sex. Once the mistake is made, she needs unconditional love from real bible believing Christians!
  5. Speak out clearly without apology. Isaiah 58:1 “Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet and declare to My people their transgression!”
  6. Refuse to be swayed by the high sounding arguments of liberal politicians, and so-called “experts” in the scientific field who have no moral base of morality to speak from. They are clueless and don’t even deserve our attention on this matter.
  7. Pray for God to have mercy on America, and to give us space to repent… and to bring national revival.

You’d think Sept. 11 would have brought revival and repentance… it has not. Church attendance did go up briefly, but did you know it is now down from the rate before 9/11. Did you know that giving is down drastically since 9/11? Now with COVID most churches are closed to normal services.

Judgment is coming, and if God waits much longer, he’ll owe an apology to Sodom and Gomorrah! Think about it when you cast your vote. Are you voting for the person or what their party stands for? You’re not voting for a man, you’re voting for a way of life … The only person you’re voting for is God … are with him, a Christian, or are you politically correct? What price are you willing to pay?

Yep, that’s blunt, but I would be amiss if I didn’t tell the truth. God loves you and wants you to spend eternity with Him, but He gives you a choice, follow Him or …?

Until next, KEEP LOOKING UP!   Dusty

My prayer for you:

Father, forgive our sins and give us wisdom in these troubled times to make the right choice. Give us the faith to choose you, Lord, not necessarily the simple path but the right path.

Bless our families and loved ones and heal our land.

In Jesus, name,

AMEN

Hungry?

HUNGRY?

The night Jesus was born, the Angel of the Lord appeared to a group of shepherds, scared them to death, and yelled “Fear Not!”

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”—Jesus from the BeatitudesMatthew 5:6

  • Each North American produces an average of three and a half pounds of garbage per day.
  • Five million extra tons of trash is produced between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day in the United States.
  • The waste generated each year in the U.S. would fill a convoy of 10-ton garbage trucks 145,000 miles long—over half-way to the moon!

Someone complained in an e-mail about the amount of food being thrown out by Wal-Mart while there are hungry people everywhere. After a little research, they discovered that McDonald’s does it. Safeway does it. Grocery stores and convenience stores and fancy restaurants and hot dog stands do it. While people go hungry in the richest of all nations, stores, and restaurants are destroying tons of edible food each day in America.

  • According to United Nations statistics, the average North American consumes:
  • 5 times more than a person living in Mexico
  • 10 times more than a person living in China, and
  • 30 times more than a person living in India
  • Since the end of WWII, malnutrition in the U.S. has shifted from trends of undernourishment to over nutrition. Many experts agree that the scale of calorie expenditure versus calorie consumption has simply tipped in favor of consumption. The end result, according to the World Health Organization, is “globosity”—a global epidemic of fatness that has millions suffering from an “array of serious associated health disorders.”

Let’s face it: Americans are spoiled!

We have the best of everything. Our average local supermarket offers over 200 kinds of cereal to choose from! Only a very small percentage of Americans know what it really means to go hungry. This Thanksgiving Day alone, we will consume thousands of tons of food.

UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE NOT ONLY PHYSICALLY SPOILED IN AMERICA. WE ARE ALSO SPIRITUALLY SPOILED.

Until the COVID lockdown, every weekend, thousands of Americans make the weekly Sunday morning trek to their favorite local house of worship. There is certainly no shortage of churches. In many cities, it seems that there is a “church on every corner.” We have the best facilities money can buy. Powerful sound systems, Audio/Visual units project worship songs, sermon notes, and video clips onto screens. We have great choirs, worship teams, musical instruments/equipment, and the latest choruses from Vineyard and Integrity/Hosanna!

And yet, our marriages are falling apart. 50{c834e07adaeba66f308946f41fe459f7d1074b7e393db9448fd4e4c7159f6d24} of the marriages in America end in divorce, including those who consider themselves Christians. Many Christian men, including a large number of pastors, are hooked on pornography. Our families are hurting. We may have a church on nearly every corner, but many of them either sit empty on Sunday mornings or hold only a handful of gray-haired adults who are more interested in protecting traditions than they are in experiencing the power and presence of the living God. How can Christians living in a culture of such excess keep a healthy spiritual appetite? How can we get and stay hungry for more of God?

  1. EAT RIGHT. “O taste and see that the Lord is good.”—Psalm. 34:8

One rule my Grandma had ( my grandparents raised me) in our house when I was growing up: “Don’t eat a bunch of junk food before dinner or you’ll ruin your appetite!” I could have a snack when we got home from school, but that was it. Grandma didn’t want me filling up on “junk food” because she knew if I did, I wouldn’t have any room left for the nutritious meal she’d be serving for dinner. Being a good grandma, she knew that Twinkies, cookies, and candy did not have the same nutritional value as green beans, corn on the cob, salad—and occasionally the “dreaded Brussel sprouts.”

Her rule did not hurt my appetite. In fact, it made me even hungrier for the right things, the best things, the healthy food. Along about 6:00 PM, the smell of dinner cooking would reach me and my olfactory senses would kick into overdrive. Roast beef with mashed potatoes, and all those memorable homemade meals of pizza, Lasagna, Ham, Turkey, and Chicken, just to name a few. When grandma would call us for dinner and I was like the “Road Runner.” (I was in my seat in a blur) And I would sit for the next 30 minutes or so and feast on a delicious home-cooked meal. (Man, I’m getting hungry!)

The Psalmist knew what he was talking about when he wrote, “O taste and see that the Lord He is good.” God is so good! God always has been and always will be best for us! The problem is, so many Christians today fill up on “spiritual junk food” that we aren’t hungry for God! We’ll talk for hours to a friend via e-mail or the telephone, but we don’t have time to pray. We’ll read the latest romance novel cover-to-cover or the entire sports section of USA Today, but we can’t seem to get interested in reading the Bible. We’ll sit for hours in front of the TV set with never a complaint, but it’s too much effort to get up and go sit in church for an hour and a half on Sunday morning. (Maybe we should start passing out Doritos when we receive the offering!)

We’ve got all the recipes for spiritual growth right here,          but we’re not hungry because we keep snacking on worldly junk food.

For the healthy Christian, there’s no substitute for the Word and prayer. There are no shortcuts for those two things if you want to stay hungry. Many of us have no room left over for God in our spiritual bellies because we’ve gorged ourselves on things like gossip magazines and daytime soap operas. We know more about the latest websites than we do about the Word. Every day God spreads out a smorgasbord before us but we’re not hungry because we’ve been hanging out at the “Carnival of Carnality” stuffing ourselves with spiritual cotton candy. We have no appetite left for God. We fill our lives with so many things and yet, many Christians know full well that they are spiritually malnourished. The sinful condition of their private lives is proof.

You should include in your prayers every day: “God, help me cultivate a daily hunger for you and for your Word! Help me eat right!”

It’s possible to stuff yourself and still be malnourished. Have you lost your appetite for the things of God? You’ve gotta’ stop snacking on the junk food! You’re spoiling your appetite. Save some room for the good stuff. Pull up a chair at the banquet table. Taste and see that the Lord, He is good.” You’ve gotta’ EAT RIGHT.

  1. EXERCISE YOUR FAITH! “What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?” “…faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” – James 2:14a and 17b

Christian Comedian Mark Lowry once said on exercise: “I hate exercise—it’s too much work! I do one sit-up a day. In the morning I sit up in bed… that’s half when I lay down at night, that’s the other half!”

When you work hard, you work up a good appetite. James says, “…faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” J.O. Fraser, missionary to China – “Faith is like a muscle which grows stronger and stronger with use, rather than rubber, which weakens when it is stretched.”

When you stretch a lot of American “Christians” they break. Our marriages are breaking our emotions are breaking, and our commitments are breaking. Why? Could the reason be that we come to our churches for appearances and now with COVID lockdown we even skip reading the bible altogether and sit around like couch potatoes—“church a distant second in our mind. How about witnessing?  In reality, many Christians never do any witnessing. In a recent survey conducted by the A/G, the majority of Christians in America admitted they hadn’t witnessed to one person in the course of an entire year.

We march into our churches and demand, “Feed me!” But we never exercise our faith! The world is starving for answers all around us, but we leave our Christianity at the church door. Oh, we’ve got all the workout gear. We’ve got our spiritual Nikes. We’re like some guy who joined a health club, went out and bought expensive new cross-trainer shoes, new shorts, tank top, and sweats. We’ve sat through several sessions on how to use all the different pieces of workout equipment. We can tell others how to use the equipment. (Some of us even think we know more about how to use the equipment than the pastor does!) But we never do anything! We never actually get any exercise. Our biggest workout of the week was coming to the gym on Sunday!

If you want to get and stay hungry for God, you’ve got to take your faith beyond Sunday and give it some exercise during the week! It’s hard to stay hungry for God when you never attempt anything that makes you need Him. Obligate yourself!

III. WORK OUT WITH JESUS. “…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith…” – Hebrews 12:1b-2a

When you work out, you want to work out with someone who will push you past what you thought you could do. Why? To be the best you can be. To make sure you are in peak performance condition for the long season ahead, to avoid injuries.

Unless you have strong personal discipline and pain threshold, you won’t push yourself as hard as you need to in order to have that competitive edge on the field/court. In the off-season, Covid lockdown, when you’re not playing every day/week against the competition, you can get lazy and slack off. You might think you’re really pushing yourself, but when you get back with the competition, you’ll find out you’re not in as good a shape as you thought you were. You were measuring yourself against the wrong standard. A personal trainer keeps you in tip-top shape. They get “in your face” and push you to do more—to reach down and “suck it up.” They keep you hungry to win.

I challenge you to work out daily with Jesus. He will push you. He knows what it means to be a champion. He’s been to the cross. He’s defeated death, hell, and the grave. He knows what it takes to win the daily confrontation with sin. He expects greatness from you because He alone can look inside and see all your God-given potential. He will train you to see the world differently. He’ll push you past your own selfishness to see the needs of people around you. To understand the pain in their hearts, to love the unlovable, to see value in every life. He’ll develop a hunger for the things of God in you. You’ll begin to feel His passion for the lost. He’ll breathe the power of the Holy Spirit into you. Make you “more than a conqueror…” You’ll never be the same!

What do you say? Are you up for the challenge? What would it be like to have Jesus for your personal spiritual fitness trainer every day?

Have you lost your appetite for the things of God? You’ve gotta’ EAT RIGHT. Stop snacking on junk food! Don’t spoil your appetite. Save room for the good stuff.Taste and see that the Lord, He is good.”

EXERCISE YOUR FAITH! If you want to get and stay hungry for God, you’ve got to take your faith out and give it some exercise during the week!

WORK OUT WITH JESUS. Is Jesus your passion, your motivation, your greatest desire? Does your heartbreak for the things that break the heart of God? I challenge you to work out daily with Jesus. He will push you. You will never be the same!

I pray this message has encouraged you to step out and step up. In these times AHEAD God needs each and every one of us to be bold and strong in our faith, Fear and paranoia are NOT of God.

Be blessed, my Friends!     Dusty

My prayer for you:

Lord Jesus,

Have mercy on us and forgive our sins. Father, heal our land and give our leaders Godly wisdom… Reveal the truth to our people and disclose the evil ones that would destroy our country. Lord, we give you all the praise and glory!

In Jesus name, we pray,  Amen

How Do You Think The Lord Would Vote?

    VOTE      VOTE                    VOTE                                       VOTE            VOTE

Here are just three scriptures to help you figure it out if you don’t already know. Vote for what they stand for … not their personality!

Jeremiah 1:5,  Leviticus 18:22, 2 Chronicles 7:14

I DID NOT WRITE THIS but I agree with everything in it wholeheartedly and support everything in it I felt the need to repost because people need to read this and re-share it as much as possible in the hope that they see for themselves EVERYTHING THE DEMOCRATS WANT IS EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE AND IF ELECTED THE WILL DELIVER ON IT. I am not voting for a man. I am voting for the principles for which this country has stood since its founding. I am voting for Constitutional government. I am voting for a strong and viable military. I am voting for a vibrant economy. I am voting for the right to keep and bear arms. I am voting for the freedom to worship. I am voting for a national recognition of the founding of our nation on Biblical principles. I am voting for the ability for anyone to rise above their circumstances and become successful. I am voting for my children and grandchildren to be able to choose their own path in life, including how and where their children are educated. I am voting for our borders to be open to everyone who enters under our law and closed to everyone who would circumvent or ignore the law. I am voting for the Electoral College to remain in place so that a few heavily populated liberal centers do not control the elections. I am voting for a Supreme Court that interprets the Constitution rather than rewrites it. I am voting to teach history, with all its warts, not erase it or revise it. I am voting for the sanctity of life from conception to birth and after.

My Prayer for You:

Lord open the hearts, ears, and eyes to hear and see where our country is headed. As always, you are giving us a choice. I believe this election is the most important choice our country will ever make and I pray Christians will look at what’s at stake, not whether they like a person, we’re not voting for a man, we’re voting for our country and a way of life. Lord, none of us are perfect. We all fall short, but we know we are supposed to try to be as Christlike as possible. Lord, I vote one nation under God as our founding fathers meant it to be. I pray the ones claiming your name vote the way you would and start bring this great nation back in line with you.

We thank you, Lord, for your love and it’s in Jesus’ name we pray,   Amen
