“Be Still and Know That I am God” (Psalms 46:10)

Sometimes, if we slow down and just listen in the quietness, and quit thinking how smart we are and give God a chance, maybe we can get this upside-down world to make some sense.

The Lord woke me at 3:00 AM to get up and try to reach … who?

I often wonder if anyone is even reading these messages He gives me to write, or is it just for exercise?

So many times as we travel about the country, we’ll meet someone with needs in some of the most unsuspecting places. We call them Divine Appointments. Maybe this is one of those. Someone may be trying to make the most important decision of their life and they stumbled on to this site. If that’s the case then this word is just for you …

In this time of uncertainty and anxiety, we are hurting as a nation. We are not getting much relief from our mainstream media. They seem to give only the gloom and doom and avoid coming up with a calming commentary to give us peace of mind, because it isn’t politically correct.

I want you to know upfront, I’m not in denial. I know this is serious, but my God is my strength. The word says He will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6) and I choose to believe that.

Why this is happening could have several answers. Some believers think God has had enough and is exacting punishment…Is He? Take some time and read the book of Numbers. You be the judge. If what we, as a nation, have accepted as being politically correct, is contrary to the Word of God, what do you think? If you don’t believe there is a God, then work it out yourself. By the way … How’s that working for you?

If we truly believe and trust the Lord, take solace in the Word and do not worry. Start looking for the good things you can do for others. Remember, this too will pass (not a Biblical quote) and we’ll come through the other side stronger.

Look up the Scriptures I’ve given you. By no means are they there to scare you. However, they are the whole truth. It’s time to make a change, a real change. Give God a chance … you won’t regret it and it will change your life in ways you could never imagine.

I hope this has helped … I love you all in the name of the Lord …

My prayer for you:

May the Lord’s blessings, strength, protection, and peace be with you and yours, calming your heart by trusting in Him … Amen

Just a Suggestion? …

Isn’t it amazing how all our lives have changed in such a short period of time? I wonder how it would have been, if we didn’t have the help of the sensationalist news media? I believe just the facts would have served the country better, instead of all the finger-pointing, politicizing hype and gloom and doom. Yes we have a problem and yes we need to take precautions and use common sense. But really… hoarding toilet paper? Actually hoarding anything causes more problems than it helps. I find it humorous when I think about when this scare is over and these hoarders try to return their stockpile of toilet paper… They can’t… It’s a non-returnable item in most stores!

The point is WE created the shortage problem with our own fear and selfishness.

What happened to love your neighbor (Matt 22:37-39)? That’s a pretty important commandment. There’s only one other ahead of it.

We weren’t short of anything anywhere until fear, instead of faith and common sense, took over.

I’m speaking to believers. Are you in fear or faith? You can’t be on the fence… we know what the word says about that (Rev 3:16). I hope you do realize fear is the opposite of faith. With faith, we’re to believe God will provide all our needs(Philippians 4:19).

Maybe you think I’m being rough on you … Actually I’m trying to give you strength through God’s Word, not man’s opinion. You see the Word is about love, faith, and hope. With the love of Jesus Christ comes faith and with faith, there is always hope.

If you’re a non-believer and you’ve stumbled on to this site and you’re saying “What a bunch of hogwash” … if there was a God He wouldn’t allow this or all the suffering that’s going on in this world.

Really? Try reading the Bible. There are plenty of scriptures that speak of wars, famine, sickness, earthquakes and more. The Word says when these things come, He will be with us. He doesn’t say they won’t happen. On the contrary.

I’ll leave that teaching for another time and leave you with a lot worse thought than the coronavirus.

If you don’t believe in eternity with Jesus Christ and you’re right and I’m wrong, what have you lost?  But with my belief, I’ve at least been able to live a good life. The only difference is the end. Is it just lights out? Or is there a Heaven and hell?

If I’m right (and I am) I’ll live in glory. But if I’m wrong, I lose nothing. On the other hand, what happens if your wrong?? It’s your choice.

Read Rom 10:9-10. If you’re on that proverbial fence, this could help.

While you’re reading the Word, slip over to our other website: prospectorsforgod2.com … Highlight the address with your cursor. Right click on the highlighted section. Then “Go” to the website. There you can download our latest CD for free … No strings… Just be blessed and enjoy the music.

If you’re wondering why I’m just giving you Scripture addresses instead of the Scripture, I want you to open up your Bible… after all, what else do you have to do? God is waiting…

Blessings my brothers and sister, we’re in this together …

COVID-19 Events Notice

From now until May 15th, at least, we are, like almost everyone else, waiting to see how long the advisory to avoid large gatherings will last.  God willing, soon we will be back in ministry, encouraging folks in meetings as usual.  In the meantime, follow us through our Blogs on our WELCOME page. Know that we are praying for you!

One Day At A Time (Matt 6:34)

Plomosa Mountains
Plomosa Mountains

As I sit and watch the sun come up over the Plomosa Mountains east of Quartzsite, Arizona, a far off rooster crows in the new day. I watch God paint a beautiful sunrise only God can do. His words in Matthew 6:34 come to mind. Paraphrasing, it tells us not to worry about today and allow Him to guide our life and tomorrow. If He so chooses, He will give us another day. He asks us to trust in Him, why not give it a try?

Nowhere in scripture does it say life will be easy, but He does say He’ll walk through those deep valleys with us (Psalms 23).

We’ve canceled all our concerts and speaking engagements for the near future but we will be back on the road as soon as the quarantines are lifted. In the meantime, we’ve opened our ministry via email or phone; prospectorsforgod2@gmail.com (Dusty) or oldalaskatoday@gci.net (Sandy) or quartzsitepastor@gmail.com (Bruce). If you want immediate prayer contact one of us at these numbers; 907-315-3394 (Dusty), 907-775-0694 (Sandy) or 760-739-5063 (Bruce). We would love to pray with you and spend some time listening to your needs. It would be better doing these things in person, and soon I’m sure we will be doing just that.

This is the longest we’ve ever stayed in Quartzsite. It’s been a great time of refreshing and getting things done that seemed like we never had time to do before. In other words, taking time to smell the roses.

Yesterday was one of those bumps in the road. Remember, I never said we wouldn’t have those. Anyway, my car would barely start and all the gauges read “O”. Quartzsite is very small so I took it to the Chevrolet dealer in Parker, about 36 miles away. I prayed first, before leaving, because everything in the car was dead and I didn’t know if it would keep running for my dash across the desert. I made it to the dealership and the service people were amazed I’d made it. The battery was cracked and a terminal was broke. It shouldn’t  even have started, let alone run all the way to Parker. Even small prayers are answered… I knew He was with me, so I just drove along, singing praises to Him. (He’s my favorite listener) putting Matt 6:34 into practice.

Have you got a praise report? If you do, how about sharing it? We would really like to hear from you.

Until next time … KEEP LOOKING UP!

“So do not fear, I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10)

Greetings my Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

There are many comforting passages in the Bible, but I find great strength and comfort in Isaiah 41:10 and also in Isaiah 43:1. He is our comforter and our hope. Truly trusting in Him at this time of need can and will see you through these times of unending bombardment of news media gloom and doom.

Of course, there’s a worldwide health problem going on and people are dying from it. When you compare it to other causes of death in today’s world ,how does it compare? For instance: secondhand smoke (hundreds a day), cancer (thousands a day), abortion … self-inflected ( thousands a day). These are just a few that come to mind. Now I would like you to do a little math problem. Take the population of the U.S., 327.2 million, and then the latest death toll caused by the virus here in our country. Figure out what percentage has died and then figure out the percentage of people with reported cases to date …. Now, what’re the chances of you contracting the virus if you follow good hygiene and common sense? … Get back to me with those numbers.

I’m not trying to downplay the danger in this pandemic. I’m just trying to put it in perspective, one the media seems to fail to mention.

What this county, this world needs, is Jesus Christ… We need REVIVAL in our land.

There’s no cure for the coronavirus? Wrong! Isaiah 53:5 says;  By His stripes, we are healed… He’s the great physician. I believe  2 Chronicles7:14 is the answer for our great nation… If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins and will heal their land.

I believe with all my heart prayer can stop this virus in its tracks. But who’s praying; who’s believing?  Fear is the opposite of faith. Where do you stand? … In line buying out toilet paper? Loading up instead of leaving enough for the next guy? Complaining instead of praying? Hiding instead of helping? You can pick up a phone and pray with someone instead of whining and complaining. Fear is the opposite of faith. Encourage your friends and family; Now’s the time to practice what you believe … You do believe, don’t you? Well start praying! What else more important do you have on your schedule today?

Each day we have a choice … To be the problem or to be an answer.

Do you truly have Jesus as your Lord and savior?

All of what I just wrote will mean nothing to you if you don’t.

If you’re not sure, or you feel you need to rededicate your life, let’s get it taken care of right now! Just follow what is said below.

Romans 10:9-10 says it all:

9 because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.

This verse gets you started on the greatest journey of your life.

Does it mean everything will be rosier … ah… No. But it does mean your life will never be the same. Make this commitment today. Do it now!

Start growing in the Lord and day by day you’ll feel and see changes in your life.

Any Questions?  Of course there are. If you want, please  contact me at;  prospectorsforgod2@gmail.com

What A Ride!

As we near the end of this eventful tour we’re doing it pretty much the way we started … with  satan trying to beat us down.

After leaving Albuquerque and the great success we enjoyed there things started going south. We found out in Fairfield, Ca. our car needed some serious front end work but they couldn’t get the parts until the following week … too late, we had to be in Bakersfield at that time to do a concert for the Salvation Army so we made an appointment at the dealership in Bakersfield.

The concert at the Salvation Army was a blessing and we certainly felt the presence of the Lord. Men accepted Christ and smiles were all around. We felt God use us and it brought us peace and joy.

The next day I took the car in to the dealership and of course I sat and waited for it … all day. They finished at 5:00 PM  (I got there at 7:00 AM) and gave me a bill of almost $2,000. 00 … WOW! I’m glad we work for the Master and He said He would take care of all our needs.

After paying the bill I went to Burger King and had the two for $6.00 whopper deal…

Two days later the really big thing happened … we had to go to the emergency room … not me … Sandy. She was having trouble breathing and some other scary symptoms… of course heart attack and stroke reared it’s evil head … we started praying.

After a few tests they (the Doctors) decided to keep her over night. They said she hadn’t had a heart attack but they wanted her to see a neurologist in the morning … I prayed and slept in the lobby,  waiting on the Doctor to show up in the morning… Not going to happen… he showed up in the afternoon and informed us Sandy had had a T I A … a forewarning of a possible stroke and he put her on two proscriptions and said we should see him in a year. He also told us to see the the cardiologist at this facility, so the next day that’s what we did. After two days of more testing the cardiologist gave her a clean bill of health, no plaque in her arteries and no heart disease, GREAT NEWS!. Thank you Jesus!.

When she talked to her primary care Doctor yesterday, after he had looked at all the reports, he took her off the two prescriptions and explained the event she had was caused by stress and she didn’t need the drugs… praise God!. Between family problems and everything we’ve had to endure on  this tour it caused an over load. Some quiet time and prayer was all she needed … THE head Physician has answered prayer.

Thanks to everyone who joined in prayer. We appreciate all of you so much… keep praying.

We are in Lake Havasu  for another Doctor’s appointment… her regular ones this time. We should be on our way to Quartzsite in the morning.

When we get there I’ll have lots of work to get ready for our winter season at Heaven’s Kitchen BBQ. I pray it will be a banner season and God will give me the strength to do a good job. Right now it will be only me getting started, after such a costly summer I won’t be able to afford any help until we open and start bringing in some cash. I’m sure glad it’s started cooling down…

The only scheduled appearances we have this winter is in Yuma at a Campers For Christ rally and Sandy will be speaking at Amberly’s Place some time in Nov. The exact dates I don’t have but you can go to their websites and get all the particulars.

Anyone wishing to book “On The Road For Christ” for this coming summer tour, now is the time to get it done while we have open dates. We’ll be back on the road in the middle of March and be setting our tour route sometime in January. We would love to come to your special event with our full program of music and the Word Of God. Contact us through this website or email us. Of course you can do it the other way too … you know… the telephone … (907) 775-0694.

Until the next time … Keep Praying and KEEP LOOKING UP!

The Lights of Albuquerque

Our stay at the Enchanted Trails RV park in Albuquerque, NM was a joyful time. The people there really blessed us.

We originally came to Albuquerque to do a program for Steel Bridge Shelter. This place operates much like Teen Challenge as a rehab for those in need that are reaching out for help. It is Christian based and the staff is very caring.  As believers we need to support places such as this that are truly trying to help the lost … they certainly aren’t in it for the money. They give them something to replace their need for whatever  they may be addicted… They give them real hope… They give them Christ. By the time they go through the program, each person has the tools to make life changing decisions with a Biblical foundation that will give them the strength to face life’s challenges, without any chemical crutch.

Talking to the men and women going through the program and hearing their stories, would break your heart, but at the same time you can hear the hope in their voice as they tell us of the change that’s been taking place in their lives since coming to Steel Bridge. If they truly want to make the change to a clean, addiction  free life,  this is the place that will give them that leg up.

We had a glorious time in the Lord. I believe we were as blessed as the people to which we ministered. It ended all to soon and as we packed up we couldn’t help but feel the love this place generated.

Sunday we did a service for the camp grounds and again the Lord blessed us with wonderful people. One of the ladies told Sandy she had a life changing event during the service and as Sandy ministered to her after the service, the lady could hardly stop crying.

WOW! Thank you Jesus for using us … your humble servants.

Well we’re back in California and have a few things scheduled, not all ministry. Some are medical and there’s a business meeting in Clovis on Tuesday… We’d appreciate your prayers on that. Then on Wednesday we’ll be in Bakersfield to do a program for the Salvation Army Rehab.

Soon we’ll be returning to Quartzsite  to get ready for the winter season at our outreach facility, Heaven’s Kitchen BBQ. This is our main support for our ministry, so please keep us in your prayers. We have some big changes coming, so keep watching.

Have a blessed week and know you all are in our prayers … KEEP LOOKING UP!
